CM: Bayern Munich defender Boateng a possible January target for Milan

AC Milan are considering a move for Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng in the January transfer window, a report claims.

A variety of outlets have suggested over the last few days that Milan could attempt to sign a centre-back in the winter mercato due to doubts over the current group battling to partner club captain Alessio Romagnoli.

La Gazzetta dello Sport recently claimed that a lot will be placed upon Mattia Caldara’s return to the fold from injury, which is scheduled for early November.

The paper did add though that Juventus duo Daniele Rugani and Merih Demiral are firmly on Milan’s radar if they do decide to swoop for a new centre-half, valued at €30m and €40m respectively.

According to Calciomercato.it though, Bayern Munich’s Jerome Boateng is ‘another hypothesis’ for the Diavolo.

The 31-year-old has started five of the Bavarian side’s nine Bundesliga game so far this season and – given the injuries to Niklas Sule and Lucas Hernandez – he could be set for a more game time in the coming weeks.
