CM: Benfica starlet pushing for Milan move after agent meeting; Leeds and Betis also keen

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have been given a big boost in their pursuit of Benfica midfielder Florentino Luis, according to one journalist.

The Rossoneri’s midfield department looks set to undergo changes this summer, as Lucas Biglia has left and Rade Krunic is attracting interest from Torino, while Lucas Paqueta could also leave.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reported earlier today that Milan have not given up on the idea of signing Florentino to reinforce the midfield, who is valued at €30million by Benfica.

According to what is reported by Calciomercato.com reporter Daniele Longo, the agent of Florentino met with the management of Benfica on Thursday to take stock of his client’s situation, but there was no progress regarding a contract renewal.

The player for his part wants to move to Milan and for him the idea of leaving Benfica is still well and truly open, with the Rossoneri considering the 20-year-old as a ‘very valid option’ in terms of potential midfield targets.

Attention must be paid, however, to Leeds United and Real Betis, who are also showing an interest.
