As Calciomercato.com report, the injury suffered by Nicolò Cambiaghi against Udinese (which is a cruciate ligament problem) has forced Bologna to look for a winger, but they are also after a central defender and a midfielder.
There is an added difficulty for their management to navigate and it is one Milan are familiar with, because at least one of the three must have come through an academy in Italy and another one must be under 22.
The under 22 player is likely to be winger Benjamin Dominguez for Gimnasia La Plata, who will help cover for Cambiaghi’s absence. Bologna will pay €4-5m for him and the Argentine side will have a 20% resale clause.
Pobega is the name that they want for the midfield. After missing the entire second part of last season due to a hip injury, he wants to play regularly and feels that he can do so under Vincenzo Italiano at Bologna, given he was the coach at Spezia when he had probably had the best season of his career.
The 25-year-old is reflecting on the best destination for him because several other Serie A clubs are keen, but Bologna seem to have secured a preferential lane with Milan after the sale of Demirel Hodzic, who will join the Futuro for €300k. He would also tick the Italian-trained box for Bologna.
