CM: Bologna intend to renegotiate Saelemaekers deal – two other players could be involved

By Oliver Fisher -

Bologna intend to try and renegotiate the loan-with-option agreement they found with AC Milan over the summer for Alexis Saelemaekers, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com recall that Saelemaekers made the decision to leave Milan during the last summer transfer window but to stay in Serie A and join a Bologna side who have big ambitions but can also provide him more guarantees in terms of playing time.

The first objective was to return to the Belgium national team and the winger achieved this thanks to the excellent performances seen with Bologna, and now he wants to score the first goal with his new club.

The Rossoblu closed the Saelemaekers operation with Milan on the basis of a loan of €500k loan and with an option to buy set at €11m. Sports director Sartori is convinced that he can renegotiate the agreement again at the end of the season, but the desire to keep him in the squad is there.

The report also mentions that there are a couple of Bologna players that interest Milan too – namely Joshua Zirkzee and Lewis Ferguson – so they could enter the discussions.

  1. I think Joshua Zirkzee is a very ideal striker to replace Giroud.
Zirkzee is Tall & Strong, but can help build-up well with his passes, dribbles, movements. Something like Zlatan Ibrahimovic playing-style, just a little bit lack of speed if compared to other AC Milan’s forwards. But it’s okay, Giroud also slower but he did well with ACM.

And Alexis Saelemaekers no longer in Pioli’s plan, Kalulu can be Calabria’s deputy, and even replacement in long term.

    1. So Pobega has literally just played a crucial role in our win against Fiorentina and your mind is already on how we can ship him?

And for a player of such magnitude as Luis Ferguson!

      1. Why would a performance in a solitary game decide whether we keep a player or not? . Not saying Ferguson it Zirkzee are good or bad but the logic doesn’t even make sense. I believe when ppl say they want Pobega to go it’s because of what they see and the lack of skills he has. Sure he can play well from time to time but he clearly lacks

  2. Why would they convolute the deal like that? Its not like he’s doing sooooo great there that the coach would want to keep him. Started only 4 so far and we’re about 13 games in. Plus he once more has zero output (no goals or assists). Its more likely they’ll send him back

The answer is somewhere there. “Sports director Sartori is convinced that he can renegotiate” – lower the fee – at the end of the season. Or Milan can have him back.
