Some good news came from Milanello yesterday regarding Davide Calabria’s condition, but there continues to be little movement regarding his future at AC Milan beyond the end of the season.

According to what is being reported by Calciomercato.com, Calabria has recovered from his adductor problem and will leave for Germany with the rest of the team ahead of tomorrow’s game. The Rossoneri captain is a candidate for a starting spot in what is a complicated moment for him.

The issue of Calabria’s contractual situation is a hot topic at Milan. The current agreement will expire in July 2025 and there remains a real chance that the full-back ‘could say goodbye’ to his boyhood team after coming through the entire youth sector.

Negotiations between his agents and the Rossoneri directors regarding a renewal virtually stopped during the spring because the first discussions had highlighted a significant difference between offer and demand.

Calabria had the possibility of leaving Milan last summer. On the one hand, the club had just invested €15m to sign Emerson Royal from Spurs, while on the other hand Galatasaray pushed strongly to land him.

However, Davide did not feel like leaving the club, and in his heart he still hopes to find an agreement with Milan, a scenario that today seems quite difficult to imagine.

  1. Maybe he can join….

    Plizzari

    Bellanova Darmian Cristante De Sciglio

    Brecisianni Locatelli Pessina

    Verdi

    Petagna Cutrone

And we can then spend 1b replacing players every few months.

    Good times.

  2. And another one who is looking for free transfer in a year.I can not recall a Club who let so many players for free. And I am 53,have spent my whole life in and around the football.Desaster!!!

  3. He’s already lost the battle for the contract. Even if he were willing to halve his salary they wouldn’t give him one. Moncada’s wet dream is a Milan without any Italians.

  4. Overall is cheaper to extend calabria as a sub than to bring in yet another foreigner then wonder how we gonna register all of them to play.. my 2 cents

I can already see the next batch of 19 something yo fullbacks, foreign ofc, that can play rb and lb (both on meh lvl). Moncadas wet dream

  5. great we wont have a single italian first we got emerson royal to “replace” calabria when we could have gotten belanova moncada sweet dream is sonn coming true having no italians and having full team of outlanders
