CM: Calabria to undergo surgery on medial meniscus injury – how long he will be out

By Oliver Fisher -

A further injury blow has arrived for AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli to deal with as Davide Calabria will be out for a few weeks with an issue that needs minor surgery.

MilanNews reported the latest bulletin that has come from the club and confirmed that Calabria – following a trauma to his right knee sustained in Manchester – reported a medial meniscus injury that requires arthroscopic surgery scheduled for tomorrow, Friday 19 March.

Now, Calciomercato.com have confirmed that it is indeed a medial meniscus injury that requires arthroscopic surgery. The Italian full-back will be out for about a month for surgery and will therefore be available to Stefano Pioli in the second half of April.

It is of course bad news for Pioli who looked set to have an almost full squad available to him for tonight’s game but instead will be without Calabria as well as Romagnoli, Rebic, Leao, Mandzukic and Daniel Maldini.
