AC Milan intend to build around midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu into next season and beyond, a report claims, with his renewal a mere formality.
Calhanoglu continued his fantastic post-lockdown form by getting on the scoresheet against Parma on Wednesday night, as the Rossoneri came from a goal down to win 3-1 and continue their charge towards European football.
The Turkey international now has eight goals for the season in all competitions and has virtually become immovable in Stefano Pioli’s starting XI.
However, it shouldn’t be ignored that his contract runs out at the end of next season. Calciomercato.com though note that his future at Milan is not in discussion with the club having no intention of evaluating offers for him unless they are extraordinary amounts.
Even Ralf Rangnick has long admired him, ever since he tried to bring him to Leipzig without success. The only hitch at the moment the expiry date of the current agreement which will end on 30 June 2021. Renewing is ‘a necessity that Milan should not underestimate’.
