CM: Camarda-mania grows – Milan’s plan and Zlatan’s protection

By Ben Dixon -

Few talents in football are generating the same amount of interest that Francesco Camarda is right now, and AC Milan are lucky enough to have the youngster among their ranks.

Every week, there is a new thing to get excited about when it comes to Camarda, and it is difficult to not fall into the trap of getting over-excited about him. The 16-year-old has already made his Serie A debut, which lessens the pressure when he next is elected to make the step, and he is scoring goals for fun.

It has been a very successful summer so far, he has already won the Under 17 European Championship – winning the Player of the Tournament award in the process – and he is currently lighting up the U19 tournament.

As Calciomercato.com write, a certain Camarda-mania is growing. He has already extended his stay with Milan, and the announcement should occur this week. A favourite of the fans, and the club, it seems like destiny for him to eventually lead the club.

The report suggests that he will be central to matchdays with the Milan Futuro squad, but he will train with the senior team during the week when Paulo Fonseca decides. Above all, though, he has the protection of Ibrahimovic.

Already, the Swede has stated that the youngster could struggle in Serie C, but he will shield him from criticisms, having taken him under his wing. A point of reference on and off the pitch, a support network, and a guide on how to grow as a striker, Ibrahimovic aims to be it all, which will only benefit the club and the player.

That is in the future, and as we know, the present is all that matters for the club and Camarda, but it is difficult to live in the moment when the moment is so exciting.

  1. Meanwhile in Spain they let a 16 y/o lead them to glory. Sorry, he played the final the day after his 17th year birthday.

What to make of that? Are Italians overprotective or the Spanish the opposite?

    Honest question

    1. Italy isn’t Spain, Calcio is much more physical, let him get good experience in Serie C, Antonio Di Natale, the man who was only outscored by Messi and CR7 in the entire Europe only blossomed after years of playing in Serie B and C. Let him grow in Serie C, if he does well he can move to the senior side. But Serie C is no joke, he will need to put in serious goalscoring numbers before we can even think of promoting him to the 1st team. Take it easy, we don’t want him to end up with injuries like Vieri and Totti. Vieri scored over 200 goals in 6 seasons and injuries destroyed him, by 2005 when he came to us he was finished, so let’s not rush Francesco.

    2. 25 Highest value players in each of serie A, la liga, epl (based on transfer market)
      2 in serie A 22 and under…both defenders
8 in la liga 22 and under …all attackers or attacking
      midfielders/fullbacks
4 in EPL but a vast majority are 22-25 (they seem to be the middle ground, mix of positions)
Different styles of play…it’s very hard for a young attacker to have success in serie a unless they are physically more advanced than their peers…

    3. Meanwhile in any other top national team in the entire world there is no 16 yo starting. Yamal is a generational talent and the professional coaches, staff and doctors deemed he was ready to play at the high level. The same way professional coaches, staff and doctors at Milanello think that Camarda is not ready yet. Professionals that watch him every day at practice and games. Not fans that read two articles about him on Internet.

  2. Maldini, del piero, totti, panucci, buffon and donnarumma they play at the young age. Italian dont care about spanish youngster. Milan or fonseca maybe should play him more regular like he does to Lenny Yoro who make a big step to United with 68m dollar.

Italin football need some new icon like they do at calcio 1990-2000.

  3. “He has already extended his stay with Milan, and the announcement should occur this week. A favourite of the fans, and the club, it seems like destiny for him to eventually move to Fiorentina for 10m in capital gains.”

    Fixed that for you

  4. Some here are crying that we should be paying 15 milion commission on the agent of Zirkezi and that somehow we are a stuoid club fhat doesnt know what we are doing with American owners that don’t undersrand sports

It is precisely this why Morata is a perfect signing

Yes we do know exactly what we are doing

Yes we have a plan which is slowly unfolding in front of your eyes

Yes we will soon have of of the best stadiums in Europe

Milan futuro is also part of that okan with many, many super young talent with Camarda being only one of them

Yes we are one of the best managed clubs in Europe both functionalky and financially, not long ago top of the list of worse

I could go on for a while here

Future looks good. At least in my books

    FORZA Milan

PS Sometime I wander are some of these cry babies here true Milan fans or just Inter trolls 😂

    1. Like most here you think that your own personal opinion is somehow the unilateral truth. And you didn’t forget to call the fans that dont agree with you “crybabies” or “Inter trolls”, bonus points for you.

  5. Camarda, Zeroli, Liberali, Bartesaghi… Looking forward to them all being bedrocks of the team. And it’s been a while since we had more than one guy in the national team.

    1. We used to say this about Fossatti, Verdi, Merkel, Strasser, Paloschi etc.
Milan fans never learn. You should temper your expectations.

The only good Milan academy talent in a long time was Donnarumma.
