CM: Castillejo’s future uncertain as Milan eye replacements – ‘war between agents’ ensues

By Oliver Fisher -

The future of Samu Castillejo is still no clearer to being resolved a little more than 24 hours from the official conclusion of the transfer market.

Calciomercato.com described the situation as a ‘war between agencies and agents’ that could rewrite the future of the Spaniard again. Last night he received praise from the fans at San Siro amid speculation that he had closed his Twitter due to abuse (which sources close to the player and the club told us is not true), but the fact he came on for the final 50 seconds of the game suggests an exit could still occur.

There is ‘confusion and relative tension’ surrounding Castillejo, with two clubs from LaLiga – namely Getafe and Real Sociedad – vying to sign him. Manuel Garcia Quillon, his perceived agent, had reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of the player to the Basque club, but in the last hours the Stellar agency entered the scene and have pushed him towards Getafe.

A last minute attempt by a very active Sampdoria cannot be ruled out and Milan have discussed the idea during talks over the possible sale of Conti. Milan want a new forward with Romain Faivre of Brest and Jesus Corona of Porto wanted (Ounas and Messias remain more secluded), and therefore want €8m for Samu’s sale. To date, only loan proposals with an option to buy have arrived.
