CM: Chelsea forward could join Milan by end of week as clubs settle on ‘fair’ price

By Oliver Fisher -

Sources continue to come forward claiming that AC Milan are very close to finally completing the signing of Christian Pulisic from Chelsea.

According to a report from Calciomercato.com, the next few hours will feature intense negotiations between Milan and Chelsea as they aim to close the deal for Pulisic, who Stefano Pioli wants as a wild card for his attack.

Discussions between the parties took place yesterday to bridge the gap between the demands of the Blues (€25m) and the first offer from Milan (€14m plus bonuses), while Pulisic and his entourage continue to push for the move.

The USA international chose to join Milan in March and even in the last few hours he reaffirmed his firm determination to move to Italy and start a new chapter of his career there, putting aside the other offers he received.

Pulisic reached an agreement some time ago with Milan over a four-year contract which will see him earn a salary of €4m net per season, and he hopes to be able to move to Milan by the end of this week.

The latest offer from Furlani and Moncada was €22m including bonuses, a figure considered fair by all also considering that Pulisic’s contract with Chelsea expires in June 2024.

The excellent relations between the two clubs have further contributed to the acceleration.

  1. Judge Pulisic on Dortmund, early Chelsea, and the national team. Don’t judge him on dropping form when a ridiculously rich English club decided it was time for a new Instagram reel so signed players ahead of him.

An athletic, 24 year old, established international with a Champions League medal for 20m? Yes please.

As long as English clubs keep buying everyone for the sake of new content, there will always be ‘washed up’ bargains.

    Scamacca next please.

    1. Excellent observation, as a Milanese, born and still living here, if Sandro wanted to go, let him go, but he knows deep down, if he considers himself a real Milanista, he knows what the club did was fair which is why I don’t understand why foreigners are crying about a guy who isn’t even Milanese, we aren’t crying about Mbappe and he is a Milanista as well, neither did we about Auba, we have a real Milanese in the sqaud already in Giroud, our squad will be the deepest it has been in years. Let’s get Reijnders in as well, and let’s hope and pray Bennacer can stay fit, because he has played even less than Pulisic in the last 3 seasons and he’s our best midfielder. Let’s be happy that we haven’t lost Rafa and got him the new deal. That’s our most important player along with super Mike.

      1. You can’t chose where you are born. Most of us weren’t born in Milan, nor the legendary players that went through the club. There is Maldini, but you already know the story. It’s just sad to lose a talented player who was dreaming as a child to wear this jersey, then after hard work he achieves it, while he’s the definition of “grinta” and a fan favorite. Still better to have a player who loves the club than some guy looking for a better spot before the next one. But it’s modern football, alright.

Now with all these big salaries that the front staff is reportedly offering to free agents and questionable players, let’s see if Mike’s negotiation for a renewing goes through, especially since he seemed upset with M&M fired from the club.

    2. Stop fantasizing. “Athletic” guy that is injured about 3 month per season. In the last 3 seasons he was injured for 1 whole season when you add it up. There wasn’t a year where he wasn’t injured for months since he left Dortmund, that is why Chelsea “decided” to get better players that will play actually play. And that isn’t even his biggest issue, his mental strength is…

      1. Better players? Who Kai Havertz and Werner? Havertz barely scored more goals than Pulisic for Chelsea, 32 goals in 139 games for Chelsea as either on the wing, attacking midfield or as a center forward is not really better now is it? Why do you think Chelsea got rid of that “better player” as well. You know nothing about football do you?

        1. Yeah, you know everything, just read the stupidity that you type. They obviously tried to find someone that is reliable. Pulisic is unreliable, injured every season. EVERY SEASON. If they didn’t get the right players that is my fault and proof that Pulisic is a great player? You can’t be serious but I think you are. 😂😂😂😂😂😂

          1. And you definitely are not with a reply like that. Always nothing. 90% of the comments is how wrong I am but there is nothing after. You can’t prove your own thoughts.

        2. “You know nothing about football do you?”

LOL. Apparently you haven’t been discussing with Martin before. He knows everything – and I assume about everything too. He never has opinions, only facts – and always undebatable ones obviously . 😀 😀 😀 😀

          1. bb, and Pulisic being injured every season for the last 5 years is not a fact? You’re a coward, that is your problem.

          2. “LMAO!!! His input is hilarious to read though. Like a bus accident – just can’t help but look, you know?”

Indeed. And even now he’s calling people wussies and cowards just because one has better things to do after work than “having adult conversations” with some teenagers online. 😀

      2. A quick look at actual data suggests you’ve just pulled those numbers out of thin air – who knows why.

        1. Yeah, sure. You wrote nothing to say something against. What is actually wrong? Which numbers are made up? You mean this?

          1. Ok, let’s actually be intelligent about this then shall we?

First of all let’s discount anything prior to 20/21 as thats the earliest of the “last 3 seasons” you quoted.

Then let’s discount the 5 games he missed due to covid/quarantine/illness as those are reasonable anomalies.

He missed 35 games in 3 seasons.

I can’t be bothered counting up each match, but leading premier league sides play on average 60 games per season, so let’s use that.

He has missed a little of half a season in the last 3 years, assuming Chelsea’s own reporting isn’t over inflated.

Thanks for pressing me for real answers, now you have them.

          2. He missed 41 games in 3 seasons. What did I write? He missed one full season in the last 3. How many games are there in a season?

          3. That is the official injury data, nobody is over inflating their injuries. But he was injured 2 or more months every season by the data I have shown you. That is reliable? Same goes for RLC, he is replacing Tonali that played most matches and minutes, he is almost a cripple considering his list of injuries. Both of them are a big risk and I’ll bet anyone that both of them will be injured for at least a month each. You already know that. That is the issue.

          4. “How many games in a season” As my last post clearly states – roughly 60 for a top English club.

You’re right though, we should definitely be worried about those recurring “Quarantine” and “Covid” injuries.

Dude it’s like we’re in a video game and you picked up an item called “baseball bat of random contrariness” and now you can’t stop swinging it at anyone you see in the lobby.

Well, we are more than likely signing Pulisic so you had better go cry into your Dudy cushion.

          5. Bro I have no clue how people are either discrediting you or saying you’re pulling stuff from thin air. Pulisic literally has played vastly less minutes than Bennacer. That’s a pure stat. He has FAR FAR less starts than Bennacer even though he “appeared” in more games. I really don’t know how that FACT is being misconstrued as opinion 🤦‍♂️. That’s just plain fact.
That ppl jump on that like it’s false boggles my mind🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

  2. He’s a bargain IF he stays healthy. Nobody questions his talent. He’s also still young. IF healthy he’s a good addition but as a Colombian, i fear he’s looking like a 2018+ James Rodriguez. Great for country, always injured for club. Hope i’m wrong, I like Pulisic, plus hope he’s motivated with the WC being on home soil

  3. Buddy that’s why Transfermarkts website is there, he may have played more minutes, but Pulisic has played more games in that period, you don’t expect a high energy winger to play the same amount of minutes as a regista now would you? 111 Games played as a winger/attacking midfielder in the Premier League is worth a lot more than 110 games as a regista in the past 3 seasons. This isn’t the games you play my boy. You need to get off your PlayStation and go kick a ball around for a bit and see the difference.

    1. What? Hahahahahahahahahahaha. So you are counting when Pulisic played 7 minutes as a full game and that he played more games? You’re a joke. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

      1. He scored 9 less goals than Havertz, so according to you Havertz who played basically every minute is the better player, gtfoh child.

        1. Who said that? Where did I write that? You have to make things up to sound right after the amount of stupid “facts” you wrote. Nice try, hahahahahahahaha.

          1. Better players was your words not mine, they got sterling in and he just had the worst season of his career. As I said get off your PlayStation and tell your mother to get your television sorted because it appears that you watch football by reading the Google Chrome football highlights.

          2. Yes, top clubs usually try to buy better players when they want to replace someone. And dude, your insults are childish, I think you should ask your mom (when you’re mentioning mothers) for some advice on those.

        2. Oh yeah, I forgot, it is also well know that midfielders run the least from all the players and have no reason to be tired. Winger playing for 45 minutes is much harder than a midfielder playing the whole match. You have to know everything about football, share more knowledge.

  4. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

    1. I will bring the stats buddy, you can bring your childish attitude and continue looking like an idiot on here. That Chelsea squad put 5 past us while their midfield with RLC made Tonali look lost. But keep it up. You are only making yourself look more and more like a fool. First you’re blasting RLC and now Pulisic, forgetting how RLC embarrassed the Tonali you’re still crying about. Move on, you would swear you’re in love with him. Maybe we should sell you to Newcastle too

      1. Which stats? Who mentioned Tonali? You’re literally trying to add whatever you can to try to sound smart. But stats don’t lie. If you want to mention Tonali he is the player that played most minutes and is now replaced with RLC that will be out for 2 months like he is every year.

Basically I should say everything good about players that have been injury prone for their whole career so you feel safe and not hurt? Ok clown.

      2. You did not give any real stats. Wow pulisic played 24 games last season i PL, but in fact it was more like 9 matches in minutes. And he has 1 goal and assist. Messias is better when you compare stats. You can compare even more seasons, Messias is still better. Doesn’t mean he is a better player but you keep faking stats for Pulisic. He played 111 games, he didn’t play even half of them and so on…

  5. His best years are ahead of him if he can stay fit. Let’s hope change of scenery will rejuvenate him. It must be said the targets of this mercato are much more interesting than last summer.

  6. everyone keep talking here about how much Pulisic did or did not play; As if our current squad was a lot better. Let me remind everyone our RW was Messias, Saladman and Florenzi…. yea very talented and not injury prone.. LOL . Pulisic is an upgrade regardless

    1. Pulisic isn’t coming in to be a RW though. I think Pioli will try him in the CF spot in a 4-3-3 or to interchange with Leao. Our RW is a joke, but Pulisic ins’t the answer for it. Hopefully Chuk is.

    2. From a gameplay perspective I’d prefer Pulisic over our current RWs ….IF and that’s a big IF, IF he remains healthy. Obviously output-wise he’s not had a good few last seasons but his play is nice

  7. Daniel Rodriguez, wrote the best comment on this section, whether you like it or not, as far as right wing of Milan is concern, Pulisic is an upgrade period.

    1. Yeah and he can also play as a 10 and on the left wing. Are there better players, sure, but he does make does Milan better

    2. Anyone is better than Messias, but they could have got Orsolini for 10-15M as well. He isn’t an injury collector and knows the league.

  8. He can increase AC Milan revenue in USA also provide back up , he maybe cannot play full time but he is still young and better than our bench player in his position he can play like LW ( rebic ) , AMF ( CDK ) , RW ( Junior & saladmaker) . Remember he is coming just for depth & rotation , our RW target for starter are samuel chukwu
