CM: Chelsea striker searching for new home as Milan reach agreement over two-year deal – the details

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are moving fast to give Zlatan Ibrahimovic some help in the striker department and Olivier Giroud is close to joining, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, Giroud is getting ‘closer and closer’ to joining the Rossoneri as the French striker’s contract with Chelsea expires at the end of the season and the Champions League final will his last act as a Blues player.

Milan are ready to offer the 34-year-old a new adventure with the possibility of continuing to play in the Champions League, with directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara overcoming the competition from English and MLS clubs. Milan have reached an agreement in principle with the entourage of Giroud on the basis of a two-year deal at around €4m net per season.

There are still some details to be finalised and next week – after the Champions League final – an accelerated and final push is expected. Meanwhile, the player has already started the search for a home in Milan.
