CM: Chelsea want defender back but Milan are impressed – they could use option at less than €30m

AC Milan are very impressed with the impact that Fikayo Tomori has made since his arrival and could buy him outright, a report claims.

Tomori joined from the Premier League club on loan with an option to buy and was immediately thrust into action after Simon Kjaer’s injury. He came on earlier against Inter in the cup, and made his first start during Saturday’s 2-1 win over Bologna.

His first performances have surprised everyone a bit as the Cobham graduate immediately imposed himself, showing his excellent physical and athletic condition. What stood out was how he came out of the defensive line – a typical characteristic of English defenders – going to attack the strikers in Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku and then Barrow of Bologna.

According to Calciomercato.com, Tomori have impressed the Milan leadership a lot during his first weeks in Italy. Chelsea do not want to lose the 23-year-old, but it cannot be ruled out that the Rossoneri will exercise their option to buy.

Not only that, but the source claims that the figure for the option to buy is not €30m as reported by some places but is in fact €27, therefore 1/10 cheaper than expected.

  1. We need to invest in him. We got Zlatan, mandzukic and other good players free or at low cost. Tonali was at a larger amount, but he is a long time investment.
Im expecting at least € 70mil in the transfer marked this summer, if we get top 4.
I dont mind €30mil of them being spend on this guy, if he continue to impress.
But I have Faith in Maldini, im sure he will do What is best to strengthen the team.
