CM: Chelsea man Ziyech remains a target for Milan – when negotiations could unlock

Hakim Ziyech was heavily linked with a move to AC Milan for a few days but the rumours have slowed down as of late. The Rossoneri are still interested in the Moroccan but have other priorities for now.

Ziyech is looking to leave Chelsea this summer after getting less playing time than expected at the club. Furthermore, the manager Thomas Tuchel doesn’t consider the winger as a key player for the Stamford Bridge side.

Milan have expressed their interest and as said, the negotiations seemed advanced for a little while. According to Calciomercato.com, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are still interested in the winger and a loan deal is also possible.

So, what is holding them back? Milan currently have other priorities (such as De Ketelaere) and for the right-wing, they don’t want to make any rushed decisions. The financial conditions, above all, have to be right and waiting could help them with that.

Chelsea have slapped a €25m price tag on Ziyech and Milan have taken note of their willingness to loan him out initially (with an option or most likely an obligation). As said, however, the Rossoneri won’t rush things and could wait until the end of the transfer window.

The reason behind this is their current depth on the right-wing, with both Alexis Saelemaekers and Junior Messias available. The same cannot be said for the No.10 role, which is why De Ketelaere is a priority right now.
