CM: Chiesa ends up at Liverpool – the background on the Milan ‘temptation’

Federico Chiesa has officially completed his move to Liverpool, and some background has emerged on the talks that AC Milan held over signing him.

According to Calciomercato.com, Chiesa has fulfilled what was one of his dreams – playing in the Premier League – and at one of the most famous clubs in the world, Liverpool, and in a magical stadium like Anfield.

The forward closed his experience at Juventus with his own version of the facts on his Instagram profile: “I have never received any offer of renewal from Juventus and, consequently, there has never been a request from me or my entourage regarding an increase or a reduction in my salary.”

Chiesa understood in January that the end of the story with Juventus was only a matter of time because Fali Ramadani, the agent of the former Fiorentina man, was aware of the fact that director Cristiano Giuntoli was looking at signing a number of attacking players.

This is also why Chiesa never seriously considered the hypothesis of a bridging renewal, because he wanted to choose his own destiny without giving any favours to a management that had not renewed their trust in him.

Among the Italian teams, Milan were the strongest temptation. Chiesa and the Rossoneri have come close to each other several times over the years and there was a chat between Ramadani and Moncada.

However, nothing more concrete came of it because on an economic level it was not a sustainable operation for Milan, and now Chiesa is starting again at Liverpool.
