CM: Colombo the key with Buongiorno open to Milan move – the situation

By Oliver Fisher -

Alessandro Buongiorno has given the green light to the idea of joining AC Milan, a report claims, but Lorenzo Colombo will be the key to the operation with Torino.

According to what is being reported by Calciomercato.com, the return of Matteo Gabbia from his loan spell at Villarreal is not seen as being enough to bolster a defence that will be without Pierre Kalulu, Malick Thiaw and Fikayo Tomori for a few weeks more yet.

Milan’s target for January is Buongiorno, a defender born in Turin and a Torino fan since birth. He is admired by the management for his personality, his physique, leadership and excellent tactical intelligence.

The Rossoneri are convinced of his qualities and have placed him at the top of their list. Geoffrey Moncada and Giorgio Furlani have already spoken about the 24-year-old with Urbano Cairo, as did Ibrahimovic in the recent meeting between the two Primavera teams at the PUMA House of Football.

The mission for January appears very difficult because his valuation exceeds €35m and the Granata are in no hurry to sell, yet contacts are continuing and nothing should be ruled out because Milan are serious.

A sign of this is the fact that they are ready to include Colombo in the negotiation. An important point should be noted in the negotiation: Buongiorno is very attracted by the possibility of moving to Milan, so the next step is to test Monza’s willingness to end Colombo’s loan.

In the event things do not work out this month, the Diavolo are already thinking of resuming negotiations in the summer.

The plan B that has emerged the last few hours is Tanguy Nianzou of Sevilla who could arrive on loan after being offered by agents.
