CM: Confirmation arrives as Milan open talks with Mendes over Benfica starlet

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have set their sights on Benfica’s starlet Diego Moreira, who turned 18 back in August. The news first broke last night and confirmation has now arrived, as per a report.

SportItalia’s Gianluigi Longari reported last night that Milan are following the situation of Moreira with great interest. He added that talks have been taking place with an intermediary, and further details have now arrived on this.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan aren’t just talking with Jorge Mendes about the renewal of Rafael Leao, but also about the future of Moreira. The latter has done well in the UEFA Youth League, attracting the interest of the Rossoneri scouts.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara enquired about the youngster in their talks with Mendes, and it’s possible that Moreira could become a concrete target in the future. The youngster’s contract with Benfica will expire in 2024.

During the World Cup break, the directors will have more time to plan for the future of Milan.
