CM: Contacts intensify as Milan look to close deal for Man Utd linked Benfica starlet

By Oliver Fisher -

Talks are intensifying between AC Milan and Benfica regarding a potential deal for midfielder Florentino Luis, according to one journalist.

Florentino’s agent Bruno Carvalho Santos was at Casa Milan on Wednesday afternoon for a market meeting with the Rossoneri hierarchy, and journalist Gianluigi Longari claimed that Milan have enquired about signing the 20-year-old.

Portuguese outlet Renoscenca then reported on Friday that Milan have made an offer for the Portugal U21 international with the formula of an 18-month loan with a purchase option set at €50m.

Calciomercato.com’s Daniele Longo previously reported that Florentino has a €120m release clause, plus there is competition from Manchester United and Serie A rivals Roma.

Now, Longo has provided an update, claiming that Milan are in talks with Benfica over getting a deal done before the end of the window.

The Rossoneri are currently using the angle of the player’s will to move and his lack of playing time to try and convince the Portuguese giants to sell, and he adds that contacts have intensified in the last few hours.
