CM: ‘Countdown begins’ – figures and strategy behind Vos’ Milan move

AC Milan are not expected to make many late moves in the mercato, but the signing of Silvano Vos from Ajax is expected to happen in the dying embers of the window.

Throughout the window, Milan have looked to strengthen their senior team and their Futuro squad – normally investments in the latter squad are done in mind of a future with the senior team, for example, Alex Jimenez.

This is the idea with the signing of Vos, and with the Dutchman under the age of 22, there is no need to register him in Serie A, so he can freely move between the two squads when required. His main focus will be playing for Daniele Bonera’s side, though.

As Calciomercato.com writes, the midfielder has been offered a four-year contract and there is an agreement already in place between the two parties on the terms. Additionally, he has already received assurances from the management about his pathway to the first team.

Vos will train ‘a lot’ with the first team, and he has the approval of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paulo Fonseca. All that remains is an agreement between the two clubs, which should arrive in the next few days, and the report suggests that a deal could close for €5-6 million.

    1. I mean if even juve fans got feed up with allegri and his stale football there then it’s obvious we should avoid him like the covid ward during plandemic

    1. He is mostly a defensive midfielder (while Musah was mostly a central midfielder and sometimes a right midfielder) and in some highlights he is shown to be quite a decent tackler.
I see him as a deputy for that position since you never know if Fofana sustains an injury or is absent in some games.

      1. I’ve read in several articles he’s a DM too (haven’t seen him play live so can’t confirm)

If true, would make sense especially if we offload Adli+ Pobega. Vos can learn his trade in Serie C with the Futuro squad and occasionally be called up to the 1st team, eg to rest Fofana during coppa Italia or similar
