CM: Crucial weeks ahead regarding future of Milan midfielder – the stances of both parties

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is facing a decisive next few weeks especially regarding his future at the club, a report claims.

As Calciomercato.com notes, Calhanoglu is currently on a contract which expires on 30 June 2021, but the certainty is Milan’s will not to bring the relationship to an end.

It will of course be necessary to see if his stay at the Rossoneri will continue and if he will have to leave for other shores, but it all depends on the renewal talks and neither of the two options, to date, should be discarded.

Much will depend on Elliott’s new project too, based on who the new head coach is and what their philosophy may be. The clues, at the moment go in one direction, and if Ralf Rangnick were to arrive in the summer and replace Stefano Pioli then the chances of the Turkey international staying will increase, as the German has tried to sign him for RB Leipzig on multiple occasions.

Calhanoglu waits to understand what will happen, but has already communicated his decision to his agent: he wants to stay at Milan, he wants to renew and has no intention of leaving. A position that has not changed in the last two windows despite interest from clubs such as Fenerbahce. As mentioned, the next few weeks are key.
