CM: Daniel Maldini closing on in permanent Milan exit – the situation

By Oliver Fisher -

Daniel Maldini is getting closer to saying goodbye to AC Milan again, but this time it could reportedly end up being a permanent exit.

According to what is being reported by Calciomercato.com, Monza are pushing to bring Maldini back to the club but this time on a permanent basis after a successful loan spell in the second half of last season.

His agent Beppe Riso met with Adriano Galliani in the last few hours to speak about the offer to present to Milan. Monza are ready to grant a high resale clause to Milan, as long as that is balanced out by a smaller transfer fee this summer.

The fact that Daniel Maldini’s deal at Milan expires in a year means that there is a need for it to be a permanent move, because any loan deal would require the extension of his contract and at the moment that does not seem likely.

Monza are ahead of the competition at the moment, and after his grandfather Cesare’s debut in 1953 there could well be the end of the Maldini dynasty at Milan.

The Biancorossi have intensified contacts for the 22-year-old, so much so that there is already a draft agreement on a contract until 2028 as well.

  1. This signing has Galliani written all over it. Smart, cheap with great upside. Also, the name Maldini will live on. Its a shame he won’t be given a chance but if we can include a large sell on clause of 30-40% it would be good business. Miss Galliani.

  2. It is a real shame these new owners want to divorce Milan from it’s history, a great history which has impacted everyone who has played for the club.

No reason we couldn’t retain some or all of his ownership and hope that with time and maturity he could yet play a role in the 1st team. Let’s be honest we are not stacked with attacking midfielders and Maldini did very well for Monza.

    It’s just sad.

Part of Milan success was having an identity, what is it now, a bunch of mercenaries from anywhere but Italy, let alone Milan and a new group of “fans” who defend the ownership at all costs (no surprise as some are self proclaimed Trump supporters, so you know they don’t have any intelligence or decency)

    1. Wait what?

Did you just equate bring a fan of Cardinale with supporting Trump.

I’m a Trump supporter and I dislike our ownership. When/if we win hardware, I will rethink my tune.

But don’t ever conflate those two things together. It makes you look ignorant.

  3. That’s the end of the Maldinis in Milan. Is the next legacy going to be Calabria and his son and grandson? I bet lots of people here would go nuts. 🙂
