AC Milan are looking for a striker to sign this summer and Divock Origi has been linked quite a lot with them. There are a few more names floating about, though, and Darwin Nunez is one of them.
Nunez, who currently plays for Benfica, has scored 34 goals in all competitions this season and that is indeed very impressive. In a piece published last night, Calciomercato.com explained why he would be the perfect signing for Milan.
In fact, there are a few factors that make him perfect for Stefano Pioli’s system at Milan: his power in counter-attacks, ability to play at speed, desire to press the opponents, ability to score also with his head and his runs in-behind make him a great No.9.
Above all, though, he knows how to find the back of the net when presented with an opportunity in front of goal. The price tag, especially after this season, is hefty. Benfica will ask for at least €70m and there are many other clubs in the running, but Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are at least interested in Nunez.

Scammacca isn’t worth 20M. He scored 31 goals in the last 3 SEASONS. 93 games, 31 goals and don’t forget he played in Serie B for one season. I think Milan doesn’t need him even if he was free. You either go for a top striker like Nunez or Giroud is good as well, Scammacca isn’t any better than him and he is 12 years younger.

Darwin all round striker can play on fast game or press enemy like rebic /Ibra did often,he is successor Cavani in national team, have experience on CL . And you compare him with scamacca ? I like Nunez a lot, he could have had 3 against Liverpool if not for marginal offsides and he has not looked out of place in the champions league, he is still very young and I don’t see his value dropping so he has that resale value, don’t think we will have the money for him sadly.
Nunez would be ideal….we will see if the new owners will spend 80-100M on him – as that’s likely what it will take as Man U and others want him.

Berlusconi did it too in his first season ,then come Yong Hong Li spend 220m euro in his first season for 11 player, last elliot in their first season recruit Higuain,caldara,paqueta,piatek,castilejo total cost almost 150m euro . They Will brake transfer budget in 2nd season etc. Botman only 30m euro,Renato still not sure to join due to high salary demand. So just botman 30m euro . They can still sign RW,AMF,striker ( if Ibra out) . I don’t see imposible for new owner buy one expensive player like nkunku or Darwin because their salary are still under 8m euro nett/ years
