CM: Donnarumma destined to leave Milan at present as PSG and Real Madrid lurk

By Oliver Fisher -

Gianluigi Donnarumma is ‘destined to leave AC Milan’ if the current struggles on the pitch continue, according to a report.

The images of Donnarumma in tears at the end of the 5-0 defeat to Atalanta painted a sorry picture, but what appears an even more difficult situation at present is the matter of his renewal.

According to Calciomercato.com, the 20-year-old – despite his love for the Rossoneri – cannot put his own sporting ambitions in the background. Given that Milan in their current state not have the potential to compete at high levels, another season like this will have no result other than to push Gigio out.

Regarding a possible new deal, the parties (Mino Raiola, Donnarumma and the Milan leadership) will begin to speak more concretely in February.

The report claims that they are starting from very different positions: his entourage understandably aims to improve his wages and extend the number of years, while Paolo Maldini and Zvonomir Boban want to spread to cost of his current €6m-a-year deal over a longer period, thus reducing his actual salary.

The early signs are negative for Milan, with PSG and Real Madrid lurking in the background ready to take their shot.
