CM: Milan director sent on Bundesliga scouting mission – three names in the sights

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are planning their strategy ahead of the summer window and it seems that the Bundesliga market is attracting their attention, at least based on the movements of sporting director Antonio D’Ottavio.

We wrote yesterday about how Milan have been linked with numerous players in Ligue 1 in view of the upcoming mercato and that the French feel to the squad could expand even further.

Now, Calciomercato.com report that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is working hard at Milanello because he wants to know everything about the players, coaching staff and programming in view of 2024-25, when the objective will be the second star.

He is an all-encompassing figure and this in turn frees up chief scout Geoffrey Moncada and the sporting director D’Ottavio to travel again to observe the profiles that they have on their wish list for various positions.

Last week the latter flew to Germany where there are several players who have been on the Rossoneri’s radar for some time. Maxence Lacroix, for example, scored the winner last Saturday for Wolfsburg against Werder Bremen under the watchful eyes of D’Ottavio present in the stands.

The French centre-back increasingly convinces Milan as an option, so much so that they seem ready to start negotiations with the German club over a deal. His contract expires in 2025.

The trip to Germany also served to revive contacts with Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy and Schalke 04 midfielder Assan Ouédraogo too, as per the source.
