CM: €50m Lazio star still absent without explanation – the truth regarding Milan and Juventus links

By Oliver Fisher -

Lazio are trying to untangle the situation related to Luis Alberto after he failed to show up for preseason training, according to a report.

Calciomercato.com reports that the Spanish playmaker did not show up for the routine medical examinations in Padeia ahead of Lazio’s preseason starting and their sporting director Igli Tare is waiting an explanation from the player, who is currently two days late compared to his team-mates.

The behaviour of the former Liverpool man has not gone down well with Lazio and it is a situation that worries the Biancoceleste environment, so much so that Maurizio Sarri even commented during his unveiling as head coach.

“It’s a problem for the club, he didn’t respond to the call. I wait for him to arrive and talk to me and his companions and convince us of what he has done. If he convinces us of what he did, the problem will vanish instantly, otherwise he will have to apologise,” he said.

It could be an attempt to force a move but currently there is no team that is putting pressure on Luis Alberto despite many enquiries from Spanish clubs such as Villarreal. Milan have been kept informed in recent months by the agents of the midfielder, but Lotito’s request of €50m euros is considered too much.

Juventus are not even going for Luis Alberto as they are focused on negotiations with Sassuolo for Manuel Locatelli, to which a large part of the summer budget will be allocated. Barring twists and turns, therefore, Alberto will remain after all.

  1. You can buy a top top player for that money, not Luis Alberto. He is too slow in my opinion, other players would fit better.
