CM: Fonseca countdown begins – when he will arrive and the staff he will bring

The countdown has now officially started and Paulo Fonseca is expected to be named as the new head coach of AC Milan by the middle of next week, a report claims.

According to what is being reported by Calciomercato.com, the Portuguese coach is expected in Milan either on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week for the signing of his contract and the official announcement.

They also confirm the indiscretions from La Gazzetta dello Sport regarding the staff that will join him starting with Paulo Ferreira, the former Chelsea defender who is a key man among Fonseca’s entourage and is formally his assistant.

The figure of Tiago Leal is also central, who has been him since his time at Roma, but who had a more important role at Lille. Completing the team are Paulo Mourao – his physical trainer since 2022 – and Antonio Ferreira, the goalkeeping trainer who has worked with Fonseca since his time at Shakhtar Donetsk.

Fabrizio Romano is among the sources to report that Fonseca is expected to sign a two-year deal with the Rossoneri, and his salary will be €2.5m net per season. We published a feature last night which outlines how his first 10 weeks in charge should look.
