CM: 4-3-3, Milan Futuro and Rabiot – how Milan could adapt after Bennacer blow

After the news of Ismael Bennacer’s latest injury, AC Milan are being forced to adapt to their situation. To do this, they have a few options, a report has claimed.

For Milan, there could be a few things that go worse during the season-opening period. Controversy has occurred, the mercato caused some doubts, they have failed to win a game in their opening three fixtures, and now, an old problem has re-emerged.

Throughout last season, the Rossoneri were hurt by a lack of midfield options, and with Bennacer’s new injury they are left in the same position, and a way out must be found.

Calciomercato.com suggest there are three possibilities for unlocking the situation.

Firstly, there is the possibility of a formation change from 4-2-3-1 to 4-3-3. With Fonseca no longer having two recognisable ‘deeper’ midfielders, perhaps, there could be a change of formation to a flat midfield three.

Alternatively, Silvano Vos or Kevin Zeroli could be moved into the limelight of the senior team. The Dutchman would only be able to feature in Serie A, and he could be offered a chance after an impressive Futuro debut. Zeroli’s qualities have been known for a significant period, and he would also be able to feature in the Champions League.

The third option, and most expensive option is Adrien Rabiot, who has already turned down the Diavolo. He is demanding a €7.5 million salary per year, and with Milan’s midfield options slim, it could be an explored idea once again.
