CM: Furlani personally leading negotiations for Verona winger – the details

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are convinced that Alphadjo Cissè is someone that would bolster the youth ranks even more and they are talking with Hellas Verona about a deal, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, Cissè is a talent ‘destined for a brilliant career’. The 17-year-old amassed 20 goals and three assists in 56 appearances over the last two seasons with Verona Primavera, playing as a left winger and a second striker mostly.

He even made his Serie A debut under Marco Baroni and the new coach Paolo Zanetti decided to assess him in preseason with the senior squad. He responded well, scoring goals against Rovereto and Virtus Verona in friendlies.

The report adds that the Gialloblu know they have a player with great potential and are in no hurry to sell him in this summer transfer window because they are convinced that next season he will get more minutes in the top flight and his value will further increase.

However, Cissè has been in Milan’s sights for at least a year and CEO Giorgio Furlani has personally resumed talks in recent weeks to try to land a high-level prospect for both Milan Futuro and the first team. Atalanta are also in talks, and want him for the U23s.

The request of €5m from Verona for Cissè was considered too high by both Milan and Atalanta. On this basis, neither club are willing to move forward with the discussion. Now the ball is in Sogliano’s court, and he seems open to the idea of granting a discount.

  1. What about working on Chaka Traore? He’s was also brought in as a winger “destined for brilliant career” and he still is. Boy showed glimpses with scoring before being shipped out on loan. Or are we already bored of that toy because it’s our own product and we want other’s shiny toy?

    1. I don’t even know why young players would want to come to us. We seem to ship out talent. Most don’t make the first team barring some form of luck or injuries. And when they do we want to transfer them lol. If I were him I’d go to Atalanta to help my career.

      1. Isn’t that what every big club does?
How many young players that were either on loan or playing for their u23 did Juventus sell just this summer?
How many youth players does inter have in their squad? Last 2 days they sold or loaned out 2 of them, Agoume and Carboni.
How many youth players Real Madrid sells every year? Theo Hernández, Hakimi, Odergaard, Morata are just drop in a bucket of young talent that they have sold in recent years.
How many youth team players make it to the 1st team in a big club?
But, sure, let’s criticize Milan for something that every club on their level does much more.
BTW, Milan did the work on Chaka Traore, now he has to do the work. He proved last season that he isn’t good enough to even play in serie B. So let’s see if he can play in serie C this season.

        1. Sure pick out teams who have been poor at developing talent.
Ignore Barcelona, Bayern, Dortmund, City, Liverpool, Arsenal etc etc etc

Let’s also remember how this club has to mind the budget, unlike the above teams. Yet they dump quality youth like Simic

          1. Funny how bubbles mentions Juve when they had like 4 or 5 players (illing junior, Gatti, miretti, Rugani, Caviglia) who came through their youth system or bought players who were very young and actually PLAYED them in the first team. Some even regularly.
Real even have Carvajal, Nacho as players from the Castilla. I’ll throw in Lunin, Vasquez and Diaz in there as there was a path to first team. Plus they bought their young players vini, Rodrygo and Endrick under 20 and play them.
We sent out Gabbia last year and who knows if management wants Calabria in the team. And that leaves us with basically no incentivization structure for youth players. No wonder why Simic left.

        2. Yawn 🥱
Usual tripe from you. First, did you even read the article. Second, do you even read ppl comments or do you just go on your tirades without a modicum of thought?
Real? Juve? Inter? Who’s talking about those teams. Never said I’d join them as a youth as a wise career move either, so what’s your point? That other teams are just as terrible at blooding youth into the starting XI that somehow make you feel better or that Milan should be fine with mediocrity. Well good for you.
My comment was about Atalanta and their track record with youth as per the article if you bothered to read it and which said they’re interested too in the player hence my comment had logic behind it. Smh. Who has the better track record of moving their players from youth to first team? You’ll find your answer there .

          1. “I don’t even know why young players would want to come to us. We seem to ship out talent. Most don’t make the first team barring some form of luck or injuries. And when they do we want to transfer them lol. ”

Do you even read your own comments?
            “My comment was about Atalanta”
You spent 95% of your comment talking about Milan but your comment was about Atalanta.
            Nice try, coach!

          2. Also, Coach.
Illang Junior barely played for Juventus.
Getti isn’t Juventus youth player, they bought him from a serie B club 2 years ago
Rugani, also not a Juventus youth player, plus he spent 10 years sitting on the bench, or being loaned out.
            Miretti is trash.
Caviglia played 300 minutes because of other players injuries. BTW he is 24 years old.
You are just rambling without any knowledge of anything.
Oh real Madrid has Carvajal, nacho ,Vasquez, lumin and Brahim. You mean just like Milan has Calabria, Pobega, Gabbia? Ha ha ha.
Last season was Brahim 1st playing for real Madrid. He was on loan if you remember at Milan for 3 years, but Gabbia being sent on loan for 3 months is a problem.
Nothing but pure nonsense written by you as always, but you are claiming that someone else is writing nonsense.
Makes sure you know what you are talking about. But then again you thought that Stam played in midfield 🤔

          3. @IKWYDLS Diaz isn’t Madrid youth products. He was bought from City 🥱🥱
Carvajal was sold to Bayer Leverkusen execise buy back it was straight from academy, Lunin went on at least 2 loan before being on the bench. Aside from Foden what other youth academy flourish at City they are among the top spender of their league. Their youth literally generating them valuable profits Palmer+ Lavia close 100 mil profits. At least be accurate before ranting

        3. And then you missed the most important part of the comment……the very last part that ties it all together……”If I were him I’d go to Atalanta to help my career.”
          Nice try 👍

It’s like reading the 3 little pigs and stopped at part with the second pig thinking man the wolf fcked up all the pigs 🤣🤣🤣

  2. The new Chaka Traore.

Either way, if Furlani himself is leading the negotiations then Verona can expect an offer that is less than half of the player value and then let the waiting game begins till another team gets the player.

This management is working really hard and allocating time where it should be spent 😮‍💨

Y’all in this Cardinal management should get in the biggest Silverado you can find in Milano and drive it back to Ding Dong, Texas

    1. I believe this will show off Furlani’s business skills.
If he fails he should be shown the door ASAP.
” he who lives by the sword shall fall by the sword”
Then Milan can get someone like the Juve man!
Then if Moncada fails on Fofana and Samarzic at the club he should be next!
