CM: Furlani to meet Carnevali – €15m striker could become key in Frattesi negotiations

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are ‘pushing on the accelerator’ with regards to their summer transfer window and will try negotiate a deal for Davide Frattesi, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, CEO Giorgio Furlani will meet his counterpart at Sassuolo Giovanni Carnevali as well as Frattesi’s agent Beppe Riso to see if there are the margins to move forward with negotiations.

Inter and Roma are in the race, but the former seem more strongly interested in Lazar Samardzic at the moment while the latter have been hot and cold but do have a 30% resale clause which works as a discount.

On the one hand, the Neroverdi value Frattesi at no less than €40m and they are strengthened by the amount of interest from Italy and abroad, even if the Italian does not want to move to the Premier League.

On the other hand, the Rossoneri have no intention of going overboard for the 23-year-old and will instead try to limit the cash outlay they have to make, which is why counterparts could come into play.

There are names that Furlani and Moncada can put on the table, such as Daniel Maldini and Tommaso Pobega, but one in particular is to be kept an eye on and that is Lorenzo Colombo.

The 21-year-old has returned to Milanello after a positive loan experience at Lecce, making his debut in Serie A and scoring six goals in 2022-23, with Empoli admirers of him.

Colombo could therefore become a card to use to get Frattesi, but Milan value him at €15m and that is a figure that Carnevali would have to agree to. All will become clearer after today’s meeting.

  1. Frattesi coming would reduce some of the sting of Tonali leaving. I hope we focus on him, then go for some of the others we are linked with after.

In the end, if we do sign Frattesi, Reijnders, Musah and Chukuweze, maybe Tonali leaving did make some sense. But I have my doubts.

    1. If he really comes, I really doubt we have the need to sign both Tijani and Musah. Either one of ’em is fine, or even Kamada. As we already signed RLC. And if he really comes, the formation change should be more than a discourse.

    2. So a self-proclaimed Interista coming would reduce the sting?

Frittata is good but not that good, definitely not 40M good, not even 25M good. Carnevali is just a clown that overprices his players. He is also dreaming of playing next to Barilla, learning the was of an olympic diver at Merda, I am of course paraphrasing what he said in an interview.

So not really sure why you would even want him at Milan. Maybe as a payback for Thuram, but truth be told, we probably dodged a bullet there.

      1. Where did he proclaim himself as interista? It was only reported that Inter are in advantage because they were the first to contact his agent. Reports suggest he is most inclined to return to his youth club Roma.

        1. Fratesi said once that it would be like a dream to play with Barella because he admires him so much
I don’t know how to explain it but he also looks interista….

          1. Pirlo, Guglielminpietro, Seedorf, Balotelli, Simic and bunch of our former players come from Inter. Didn’t stop them from becoming mainstays in our squad.

      2. George Weah won the Ballon d’Or in Milan shirt. He has publicly admitted being a huge Juventus-fan. How about that?

        1. He probably would have won 3 of those if he played for the club he loved, sadly he played for Milan and underperformed. How about that?

Se I too can post random nonsense that contributes nothing to the conversation just to make myself sound relevant.

      3. Well said @shiva. Frattesi is not worth 35-40M or 20-25M plus giving up a young striker is never a good idea. RLC, Reijenders, Musah, Krunic and Benny (when he returns) would form a solid mid. Spend the 40M towards a true striker – Balgoun, Openda, etc…

Frattesi reminds me a bit of the Locatelli situation. Looked good at Euros because he was playing next to Barella, Veratti or Jorginho – anyone looks good playing next to those players – but as we have seen Locatelli is vastly overrated- he’s a good player but not great. Frattesi reminds me of the same. PASS for me.

      4. He’s a born and bred roma fan but inter seemed most interested in him and he obviously admires barella leading him to be more inclined to inter but he’s a roma fan

  2. Our transfer market is almost over because we replaced all the out going players accept if we another departures. Tonali – RLC, Dias- Maldini, Zlatan – Colombo, and the rarely used players so would be replaced by academy graduates.

  3. Okay , i support you carnevalli , dont give discount to furlani and reject colombo. We dont need your over price player frattessi 40m euro . Carnevalli can sell him to EPL like scamacca
