CM: Giroud clearly still needs time to adapt as responsibility passes back to Zlatan

By Oliver Fisher -

After last night’s draw against Porto in the Champions League, AC Milan must now turn their attentions back to Serie A and the derby coming up this weekend.

Calciomercato.com writes how Porto looked superior across the two crucial games in the group stages from an experience point of view but also in the ability to assert themselves in big games. Olivier Giroud fought with great determination and looked to try and be decisive in a competition that he has a great feeling in, but at the moment he is not quite there.

The 35-year-old striker clearly still needs some time to get used to the team’s mechanics and that is why the responsibility will shift back to Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the derby on Sunday. The Swede has proven to be a shining light for his team-mates time and time again, he knows all about pressure situations and has the extra charge of facing his former club.

Zlatan has been targeting the match against Inter from the day the fixtures came out with one target now in mind: to put the Nerazzurri 10 points behind them in the table.
