CM: Hard work and exemplary professionalism – Romagnoli’s ‘flawless’ reaction to uncertainty

By Oliver Fisher -

For the first time since his arrival in 2015 it seems Alessio Romagnoli’s Milan future is in doubt, but he is facing the situation with exemplary professionalism.

Calciomercato.com have taken stock of Romagnoli’s future, remarking how he has gone from being the captain and undisputed leader of the Rossoneri to being a fringe player over time, somewhat overshadowed after the arrival of Fikayo Tomori and Simon Kjaer.

The 26-year-old had been designated as Nesta’s heir but now seems to have lost the armband too even if he is still the official captain, with Gianluigi Donnarumma wearing it last season as the deputy. There are calls for Franck Kessie or Simon Kjaer to take the role on, but with Romagnoli still present in the squad it is hard.

Not only that, but the reaction to the uncertainty has been ‘flawless’ as per the report, with an impeccable attitude demonstrated over the last few months. With his contract expiring next June and with so many rumours about a future far from Milan, the professionalism with which Romagnoli is facing this pre-season is simply exemplary.

  1. They will wait till his contract is about to be over before they start negotiation with him, that greedy agent too is waiting for them

  2. He will never be near as good as Nesta. It isn’t easy to sell him. If he doesn’t sign a new contract, then he will also go for free. Milan isn’t the only club that waits on players to be free.
