CM: Hernandez wants Milan renewal but negotiations have been shelved

Theo Hernandez is a key player for AC Milan and after renewing his contract at the start of 2022, a new deal is now on the cards. According to a report, the parties will sit down and discuss the matter in the summer.

After an inconsistent start to the season, Hernandez has shown his importance in the last few months, playing both at centre-back and left-back. He last renewed his contract with Milan at the start of 2022, meaning it is soon time to sit down and talk again.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Frenchman is very happy at Milan and has asked to postpone all renewal talks until the summer. Not because he wants to think about his options, but rather because he wants to focus on the current season and help the Rossoneri as much as possible.

Towards the end of the season, and in the summer, he will sit down with his agent Manuel Garcia Quillon and Milan to discuss the renewal. The current contract will expire in 2026 and the 26-year-old wants to stay at the club, set to receive a slight pay rise as well.

Hernandez currently earns €4m per year and it’s believed that he could come closer or even match Rafael Leao, who is at €5-7m per year.
