CM: How Milan’s new structure will work in practice during the transfer window

By Oliver Fisher -

There have been a lot of questions regarding how AC Milan will actually carry out the process of identifying and signing players this summer.

The decision to sack Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara from their roles as the technical director and sporting director prompted an unexpected overhaul in the management, and it seems there will be no external hire to fill the void.

As Calciomercato.com results, the new management will instead be formed by chief scout Geoffrey Moncada and CEO Giorgio Furlani, who Gerry Cardinale – the owner of the club through RedBird Capital – has a lot of trust in.

The report adds that there will be a new structure for the summer window, which entails Moncada and his staff playing the role of identifying suitable players and making the first contracts.

Then, Furlani will personally carry on the negotiations when they reach a more advanced stage, something he has experience in given that he was involved in the Rafael Leao renewal.

  1. I think having a former high level pro footballer in the structure would be good, even not so much for transfers but for managing the team during the season (with a bit more distance and top down authority than the coach can have)

  2. So far Furlani managed to convince Thuram, Scammaca, Cuchz, Frattesi and Guler.

We already know this lets see some facts and actuall transfers
