CM: How much Milan will pay for Pavlovic and the salary he will earn

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan secured the signing of Strahinja Pavlovic from Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday evening which means Paulo Fonseca will have a fresh defensive option available to him when the season starts.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, there is a chance that the deal for Pavlovic could be viewed as very good value for money as the years go by if the 23-year-old can cement a starting role in the team.

The Serbian’s deal will run until June 30, 2028, which makes it a four-year contract and gives him some stability to work hard and impress. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, he will earn €1.5m per season and there are also bonuses to earn.

The basis of the deal with the Austrian side sees Milan pay €18m for the defender who was part of Serbia’s squad at Euro 2024, whilst there is an additional €2m in add-ons that will eventually be paid.

RB Salzburg had initially requested €25m for Pavlovic so Milan have managed to save some money in that regard after 15 days of negotiations.

As for why Milan and Fonseca wanted Pavlovic, being left-footed is a major plus. Also, he can play in a back four or a back three which offers the coach some tactical flexibility.

Whilst not the ideal role, he is not a stranger to playing as a left-back either.

  1. I don’t know him much but it seems that Monaco fans held him in high regard and were upset to lose him two years ago.
