Zlatan Ibrahimovic turns 42 today and he is celebrating his first birthday in a long time not as a football player, following his retirement back in June.
According to Calciomercato.com, Ibrahimovic really misses football and he wants to understand how he can return, but come back with the capacity to play a leading role as he always wants to.
If there is a club that has truly felt like his during his many experiences as a player, it is Milan. He won two Scudetto and a Supercoppa across two spells, amassing 93 goals and 35 assists in 163 appearances.
Above all he felt loved from the first to the last day by the fans and by those at the club. This is why he is now concretely considering the idea of returning to the Rossoneri, to the club where he made history as a footballer and is now tempted to try create it with another role.
Gerry Cardinale, in the meeting he had with Zlatan two weeks ago, reiterated that Milan are waiting for him. There are no deadlines and he will have the choice of the kind of role he would like to go into.
At the moment the Swede has asked for time to reflect but at Milan they are convinced that in the end the paths will cross again in the next few months before the end of the season. Someone like Ibrahimovic cannot celebrate two consecutive birthdays without football.
