CM: Ibrahimovic ready for third Milan spell – how the agreement was reached

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return to AC Milan is expected to be announced very soon, meaning the club and the Swede will come together for the third time.

According to Calciomercato.com an agreement has already been reached AND all that’s missing is AN official announcement. The first and second experiences he had at Milan were successful and now the challenge is to make the third one positive too from an external, but still operational, role.

There was great attention paid during the negotiations to the role that Ibra would have, considering that the 41-year-old did not want to limit himself to a mere ambassadorial and symbolic presence, while of course many positions were off-limits due to the absence of qualifications.

In the end, the positions converged on the role of special counsel, i.e. an external consultant who will work closely with the team both at Milanello and in away matches, holding a continuous direct line with the management and ownership.

For the announcement, a little patience is needed. The team are busy preparing for the match against Lecce, which must mark a rebirth in the league after the European roar against PSG. Then comes the international break, which seems like the perfect moment, doesn’t it?
