Hakan Calhanoglu’s contract will expire at the end of this month and he’s yet to respond to Milan’s renewal offer. Therefore, his future is very much uncertain and recent reports suggest that Inter have joined the race.
Milan aren’t particularly happy with the behaviour of their No.10, as reported by Calciomercato.com, and Paolo Maldini’s phone call with the player didn’t help much. The response was the same: Calhanoglu wants to focus on the Euros.
The playmaker is now heading down a dangerous path as the Rossoneri won’t be held in shackles. The offer worth €4m per year is still on the table but Maldini and Ricky Massara could easily withdraw it if they feel that the player doesn’t want to stay.
In the meantime, Inter have been in talks with Calhanoglu’s agent as they are looking for a profile similar to Christian Eriksen. But just like the Rossoneri, the Nerazzurri aren’t willing to satisfy the €6m demands, but could go a bit higher than €4m.
