CM: Inter become implicated in Milan’s cash pursuit as Aston Villa eye replacement

By Oliver Fisher -

The summer transfer window is expected to be full of twists and turns, and one of them could involve Inter helping AC Milan sign one of their targets, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com talk about the triangle that could be formed between Milan, Inter and Aston Villa, three teams that will play in the next edition of the Champions League and could end up being the protagonist of some mercato dealings.

Over the past few days, a meeting took place between Milan’s technical director Geoffrey Moncada and his Aston Villa colleague Monchi, former sporting director of Sevilla and Roma. Among the various players discussed was Matty Cash, the right-back that the Rossoneri like.

At the moment, the negotiations between the two clubs cannot be considered at an advanced stage, as the Villans have set an asking price of €20m. Nonetheless, he joins Emerson Royal of Tottenham and Tiago Santos of Lille on Milan’s list.

Villa would need a replacement for the right-back role if Cash were to leave ahead of their first season back in the Champions League, and the proceeds would allow Monchi to go all in on Denzel Dumfries of Inter.

In fact, Aston Villa has already contacted the agents of the Dutch wing-back to explore the situation and understand the margins of the negotiation, all while Inter struggle to make ground in talks over a renewal.

Dumfries has a contract expiring on 30 June 2025 (he receives a salary of €2.5m net per year) and has requested a significant salary increase that will bring his earnings close to double the current amount. The stalemate is evident and the Nerazzurri have begun thinking about replacements.

The talks will continue on multiple fronts, but to simplify Milan could pay the asking price for Cash and get a new right-back, while Villa could then pay what Inter want for Dumfries and everyone is satisfied.

  1. Oh, noooo. Cash isn’t even an upgrade to Calabria and we have much more important holes to fill this summer. besides wtf we need Cash for if according to this article Dumfries is available for the same price

    1. Cash is the dumbest transfer target as a matter of fact these two clowns representing Milan are just enjoying a free vacation at the expense of my dear club, buy a central back, buy your DM and get a striker stupid idiot’s if the coach need a right then he should pick out atlest three excess right back out of the team first so that the youth team right back and the new one can challenge the captain for that position

    1. Bro, you definetly have cash, coz you are super rich. plz buy cash so they can cash on dumfries so we buy bellanova with your cash.

  2. I understand if some fans don’t like the right back names that Milan is rumored to be interested in, but to think that Milan doesn’t need an upgrade at that position means that you haven’t been watching Milan the last couple years.
Calabria is good for some games in serie A but in Europe he gets owned by every winger.
Florenzi can’t defend neither in serie A nor in any other competition.
Kalulu has been moved to CB.
Jimenez can’t defend to save his life and he is young.
Milan definitely needs a new right back.

    1. If you want a new RB, then we should loan/sell some of the ones we have. Have 6 RBs doesn’t come close to make any sense no matter how average they are.
Selling Calabria and Florenzi would be a mistake because we don’t have many italians and homegrown players. No matter how you think Calabria is bad of a captain, he is still better than every other player we have (that’s how bad our team is) and you can’t “buy” a new captain right away and Florenzi is one of the few remaining leader”ish” figures in the club, and one of the few who cares about winning.
Calabria did show good games against Kvaratskhelia and Mbappe, yes it was a double-marking, but we won those games. So with the correct approach, we can still make use of him (aka don’t use him as an inverted fullback). Florenzi or the other can be used depending on the opposition, we don’t need every single RB to be able to start against Manchester City.
Plus, it’s not like we have infinite money to spend. If we don’t sold De Ketelaere and Saelemakers, we might not even have 70M and striker+defensive midfielder positions are more urgent. Once we get these 2 positions secured, we can move on to whatever remains, even in winter or next summer.

      1. “Calabria is bad of a captain, he is still better than every other player we have”

seriously mate what are you smoking 🤣

        1. Who do you can be a captain instead of Calabria right now ? Please don’t tell me Theo or Leo, and nobody is using goalies as captains anymore. That’s

  3. Milan must beat around the bush, talk and be associated with the entire players in the world, you want Zee; get him, if commission is the issue; state what the club can afford and give the agent ur time frame or else we just keep waiting and hoping the agent bends to our will meanwhile he buys time to convince his client and other teams.

The center of defense has serious challenge, fix it, just add a quality that is not questionable then ensure the DM is also housing someone with great potential that will bring panic to the opposition team with is physical appeal and calmness to the middle of the pack, a true shield to the defence then whatever is left can be use for excess because right we are doing too much, in a hurry to achieve nothing!!!

    1. Lol. If inter can cant afford him, this club definetly cant afford him also. His sallary is beyond your club salary cap.

  4. Has anyone not calling for an upgrade to RB NOT been watching Milan since Pioli took over? Because the theme has been the same….

  5. If it is Matty Cash, we already have Filippo Terraciano. But if it is Tiago Santos, we should buy him. Tiago Santos will be very proper Calabria’s backup and in few years, we might be at Theo Hernandez’s level.
