CM: Istanbul Basaksehir make official offer for Duarte – Milan’s response

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are heading towards making a sale as Leo Duarte is closing in on a permanent move to Istanbul Basaksehir, according to a report.

The Brazilian centre-back arrived at Milan ahead of the 2019-20 season on a five-year deal but struggled for playing time and was sent to Turkey on an 18-month loan in January 2020, where he has had more success.

Calciomercato.com report that the Istanbul-based club have been in talks with Ricky Massara for weeks to try to get a discount on the €5.5m option to buy that was agreed at the time of his loan deal a year and a half ago.

Instead Istanbul Basaksehir have presented an offer worth around €2m in the past few hours and at present there is no agreement, so they will have to up the amount if they want to keep Duarte for next season and beyond.

Nonetheless, the parties will meet again in the coming days in search of an agreement, with a mutual desire to get it done.
