CM.it: Milan and Inter to battle it out for unhappy Napoli defender – free transfer possible

By Isak Möller -

Milan could look for a centre-back in January, having struggled with a few injuries in that position at the start of this season. They could battle it out with city rivals Inter for one player, a report claims.

As reported by Calciomercato.it, the two Milan clubs are both interested in Nikola Maksimovic, who currently plays for Napoli. His contract will expire in June 2021 and he isn’t happy with the current situation, due to the lack of playing time.

Therefore, in addition to meeting his other clients, agent Fali Ramadini will be in Naples at the beginning of October to take stock of the situation. The agent will explain that the interest of Milan, Inter, Marseille and Valencia is concrete.

At the moment, everything is possible although a renewal remains unlikely. That leaves two options: a sale in January or a free transfer in the summer. It remains to be seen where the Serbian will end up.
