CM: Jovic edging towards Milan departure after lack of impact

By Euan Burns -

Luka Jovic is getting closer to leaving AC Milan at the end of the season given he is running out of time to make much of an impact, a report claims.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, the Serbian striker is yet to score a goal for Milan since he arrived on deadline day in the 2023 summer transfer window.

He was brought in on a one-year deal as cover for Olivier Giroud after the failed pursuit of Olivier Giroud.

With it being a one-year deal, Jovic needs to show quickly that he is worth another contract but with no goals, it is impossible to imagine Milan sanctioning that at this current stage.

Time is not up yet for the former Real Madrid man, but it is hard to picture him continuing at Milan right now.

Milan are looking at a number of attacking targets for the summer to try and bolster that part of the squad.

  1. Too early for them to be writing this. He has not had a lot of minutes to make any judgement for now and it’s not like we are creating a lot of chances for him when he is playing to say otherwise. The only time he could have probably got a tap in.. someone made a different decision and tried to score.. which has been one of our problem lately.. players making wrong decisions.

    1. He is absolute trash. He’s had years to rediscover the form he showed in Germany and simply cannot. Everything else is just an excuse IMO – needs more time, etc…Also huge mistake by management to rely on this player instead of getting Thuram, Taremi or anyone else with a pulse.

  2. Garbage player. I hope he leaves in January. There’s no reason to even play him anymore. Total waste. He adds absolutely nothing.

        1. Why are my anti-transfer rants any more boring the media endlessly spruiking more transfers?

Surely it’s two sides to the same coin?

  3. Should have stuck with Colombo so he can learn from Giroud. Instead management went into panic mode and entertained this goon – minutes or no minutes.

    1. Agreed. At least Colombo moves around the pitch and gets involved. He would have been a good sun around the 80th minute for sure.

  4. ain’t this toooo sooooooon? as if there is nobody trust him from the start. somehow the question would be why did they sign him if they do not have enough trust on his ability? or did something happen in the background??

  5. This guy was pure class at Frankfurt and showed glimses of that class at madrid. At Fiorentina he was a regular scorer. Imagine if milan could get him back to his Frankfurt form on this deal. The guy had no time but already this writer is kicking him out. I support Jovic 100%. Milan have messed up to many promising careers with having no patience!!!

    1. Thank you!

Of course the main issue is we also have Okafor who has done a better job so far.

We should’ve only signed one of those two players not both. They’ll both suffer.

This is the main reason why I think Milan have ruined so many players.

  6. New rule.

Clubs must keep players for at least 12 months.

This would stop the utterly farcical situation of signing elite athletes in one window and moving them on the next.

This is not how elite sport should operate. This is not how you get the most out of players and build a stable brand.

  7. I don’t rate Jovic but, seriously, he has been given 90 minutes yet?

If he’s not getting 90 we’re back at square 1 which is that Pioli wants a big striker for the wingers to play off.

Someone must have cruched the numbers to compare the rate of scoring off the bench in the last 30 minutes and how that compares with starting a match.

Even as a matter of basic logic the expectations of players off the bench are just dumb.

Invariably the substitute is coming on to change the game because it is not going to plan. With that as a starting point the sub is shovelling s**t up hill but it never seems to stop the pile on.

  8. Im not saying there he has been any encoruraging signs as yet from him but come on he has played 167 minutes up untill now which isnt even 2 full matches played. I’d argue that if he bags a brace the tune will be a completely different one so this article is basically utter trash as things could easily turn on a plate if he has 1 well played match.

  9. Guys, the reason they write these articles is to get everyone complaining in the comments. Just don’t post anything on them, and they’ll stop posting garbage like this. We’re part of, (or the entire) problem.
