CM: Kjaer enjoying the best moment of his career as Maldini and Massara make intentions clear

AC Milan are planning on rewarding Simon Kjaer for his performances with a new contract, according to a report.

Calciomercato.com recalls how Kjaer stepped up to take a penalty for Denmark in their win over Moldova last night and despatched it with confidence. He now has a central role on and off the pitch, with Denmark but also with Milan, and his performances for his club and his country at the European Championship convinced France Football to add him to the list of candidates to win the Ballon d’Or.

At Milan he is experiencing one of the best moments of his career, while for head coach Stefano Pioli he is an untouchable. However, his contract is expiring in June, and in recent days he said that he is not close to renewal but with the Rossoneri he is enjoying his football.

Milan are happy with him, so much so that Maldini and Massara have already communicated their intentions to the player and his agent to extend his deal with a pay rise from the current €1.2m net per season.
