AC Milan technical director Paolo Maldini is firmly at work to build the team of the future in light of recent news, a report claims.
Just as it appeared that the Rossoneri were destined for yet another summer revolution – one led by Red Bull chief Ralf Rangnick – everything did a U-turn on Tuesday night as Pioli instead put pen to paper on a new contract until 2022.
According to Calciomercato.com, Maldini has been left with a smile on his face in light of the decision, who even visibly looked pleased when he left the hotel after a meeting we documented with Ante Rebic’s agent on Wednesday.
Paolo Maldini operates on several fronts. He has signed Pierre Kalulu on a free transfer from Lyon, pinned talented young striker Lorenzo Colombo down to a new deal and is continuing the negotiation with Lokomotiv Moscow for the sale of Diego Laxalt.
With agent Fali Ramadani he is working on the early purchase of Ante Rebic and probes the ground for Nikola Milenkovic of Fiorentina and Luka Jovic of Real Madrid.
He does not want to become the vice-president of Milan for the time being and instead he will decide what to do with his future. He still has two more years on his contract and the whole technical area are on his side: Massara, Pioli and the players. The situation has now completely changed after Gazidis’ U-turn on Rangnick.
