CM: Lazio and Napoli join Fiorentina in race to sign 34-goal Milan man on free transfer

By Oliver Fisher -

Three of AC Milan’s Serie A rivals are interested in signing midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura on a free transfer this summer, according to a report.

Whatever the future holds for Bonaventura, it appears to be edging further and further away from one with the Rossoneri as every week passes. The 30-year-old is on a contract which is set to expire at the end of the season, and with no signs of an imminent renewal it appears clubs are beginning to take a keen interest in the situation.

Having joined Milan from Atalanta back in 2014, Bonaventura has been one of the stars and most consistent performers through a difficult past half decade, yet as mentioned there is nothing to suggest he will be given a new deal by his boyhood club.

Therefore, Calciomercato.com are now reporting that Lazio and Napoli have joined Fiorentina in the race for Bonaventura, who is ‘unlikely to renew his contract’ with Milan and is therefore able to sign for a new club on a free.

Bonaventura has 34 goals and 15 assists in 171 games for Milan in all competitions.
