CM: Lazio president meets Enzo Raiola as Romagnoli moves closer to exit

By Oliver Fisher -

There was a meeting staged yesterday between Enzo Raiola and Lazio president Claudio Lotito to discuss Alessio Romagnoli, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, the talks between Raiola and Lotito about Romagnoli took place in Formello at Lazio’s training centre. The Milan captain wants to join Lazio who are his boyhood club and it is a priority he has clearly expressed in recent weeks.

The Italian has put the other proposals on stand-by precisely because he wants to return to the capital and complete a sort of childhood dream, having already played for their rivals Roma and having spent seven years at Milan.

The negotiation has been going on since February, with continuous ups and downs. Now Lazio know that they cannot keep biding their time if they want to give Maurizio Sarri the centre-back who is top of the list of preferences.

Yesterday’s meeting brought the parties closer to an agreement, while important updates could arrive before the end of the week.
