Calciomercato.com report that Maignan has made it clear that he has now inherited Ibrahimovic’s role inside the dressing room. The French goalkeeper, also against Fiorentina, set an example: despite a small problem suffered after the saving from Beltran, he remained on the pitch to fight with his team-mates in order to bring home a win which is worth a lot both in the table and for confidence.
If Theo Hernandez was decisive by scoring the winning penalty that he himself caused, Maignan can be considered the man who saved the result. His late stop on Mandragora was one that only great goalkeepers can make, so Magic Mike put his signature on the three points.
