AC Milan have drawn up a shortlist of defensive targets as their worries at the back have been added to again, a report claims.
The Milan coaching staff are waiting with baited breath to find out the extent of the injury sustained by Simon Kjaer. He pulled up with an injury while Celtic were on the attack during the opening stages of last night’s 4-2 win and Alessio Romagnoli came on in his place, but now attention has turned to Kjaer’s condition.
According to Calciomercato.com, Milan’s pursuit of a new centre-back has intensified given that Pioli is back to having only Gabbia and Romagnoli available for the next matches against Sampdoria, Sparta Praha and in all probability Parma too.
This is also because Musacchio and Duarte, for different reasons, do not seem to be part of the plans, but technical director Paolo Maldini is working on signing a new defender.
The report claims that contacts well underway with Schalke 04 for Ozan Kabak and the Rossoneri want to close the deal at €15m. The first alternative to the Turk is Mohamed Simakan of Strasbourg, but the names of Nikola Milenkovic (Fiorentina), Matteo Lovato (Hellas Verona) and Kristoffer Ajer (Celtic) should not be excluded.
