CM: Man Utd to pay above €40m clause but less than €15m commissions for Zirkzee

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will not welcome Joshua Zirkzee as their new number nine given that he is bound for Manchester United, and some terms regarding the deal have emerged.

The most talked about potential signing throughout the month of June related to Milan was Zirkzee. Most sources agreed that the Rossoneri had communicated to Bologna their intent to pay the €40m release clause present in Zirkzee’s contract and agreed terms with the player.

What’s holding back the deal is the request of his agent Kia Joorabchian on commissions. The first request for €15m was rejected and it seemed that when Manchester United entered the race everything went quiet on the Milan front.

Now, Calciomercato.com are reporting that the deal between United and Zirkzee – through the central figure of Joorabchian – is now a done deal. Milan’s summer dream is undergoing medical checks with the Red Devils and will soon be announced.

The Premier League club will pay just over the €40m release clause and the reason for this was in order to be able to pay in instalments rather than in a lump sum.

To that amount, €10m in commissions for the player’s agent must be added, and that amount is the reason why negotiations with the Rossoneri had stalled.

  1. Casemiro is going to Saudi, before him CR7, Varane to Como, Van de Beek sold for 500k, Martial has no club, Antony is a joke… How many careers MU will ruin after spending hundreds of millions to finally end up being a mid table club… I really don’t feel bad for Zirkzee and his greedy agent, karma will take care of them and Milan will stay Milan and any players who joins should be living a dream

    1. What’s with the anti man Utd sentiment around here? All teams have flops and tops. Yes, let’s ignore ours Musahs, CDKs, Adlis and point to their team who actually won something last year

      1. Manchester United destroy promising players as they’ve always done. Let me remind you of Kleberson who was used as a LM/LW when he was clearly a CDM/CM. Ruined him. One of the most promising talents in the world.

        1. Again, we have our own failed paths of young players. Why are ppl on Man Utd case so much? CDK, Lazetic, Adli, Vranckx, Pobega and Romero so far are prime examples for us.
Klberson was never that guy. This is why I have told ppl beware of judging intl cups as an indicator for club form. Also, around Klebers time there were other flops but other great pickups like CR7, Vidic, Evra.
Man Utd had a bad season yes but 1. They still won something and 2. Have laid great foundations for the future

    2. Their new management seem like playing a different game now. Just look at the targets. Obviously different from overpaid overrated kind of transfer antics we used to see from MU for several seasons.

  2. Shouldnt this be investigated? Kia literally wouldnt budge on his demands to Milan for his commission but did it for another team. Agents arent supposed to be allowed to give teams preferential treatment.

    1. They can do whatever they want. There are no rules that govern this. Just like there are no rules that say if Zirkzee asks for 5M per year from Milan that he can’t ask for 7M from another club. Clearly, the goal was always a Premier League move. Basically the message was “we prefer the PL, but if a PL club doesn’t come around we’ll go to Milan (or wherever else) if they meet these elevated demands”. Milan were unwilling to meet those demands, a PL club came around, and because that’s probably where Zirkzee really wanted to end up, their demands were lower. And that’s it.

  3. And that is how you close a deal. I miss the times when Galliani closed deals overnight, with one simple dinner meeting with the players and their agent, robbing other teams and leaving others surprised, thinking how did he pulled that off.
Today, these incompetents seem that they dont know what they’re doing. The level of incompetence and unprofessionalism is EMBARRASSING. Even second, third level tier teams make fun of Milan now. Sad

    1. 💯💯💯 agree.

The Big Boys close the deal – the little boys just complain about why they couldn’t and find every excuse why it’s not their fault.

If you can’t afford to pay – then don’t play. All this time wasted. But I guess that’s why the world needs ditch diggers too

Now what if Morata says no?? Jovic our savior??? LOLOLOLO. Gross

      1. You think you know how the management work, but obviously you are clueless. They have more plans than any of us imagine, so please stop crying.

        1. Plans?? They have plans??? Lol
You’re delusional buddy, they maybe have plans how to keep their balance sheet profitable, but other than than no plans, or idea how to close a deal on players they need.
They should have gotten a Forward LAST year. We patiently waited, like you’re suggesting now. Who did they get?? I tell you who: JOVIC.
They talk about a young team and on the end they go after Morata or Lukaku.
I have more things to say but im not goint to mention them all.
So please wake up, and stop being delusional.

      2. Might be the most uneducated comment I’ve seen. Galliiani is one of the reasons why we were in dept. You clearly haven’t been around too long. We had a lot of flops back in the day. Rivaldo. Redondo…I can go on.

        1. Tell that to the Inter, and Juventus fans. I am not going further to mention the other teams in Europe. Inter supposed to be bankrupt, but here they are buying more players.
Congratulations to all the educated Milan fans who apparently are all accountants now, caring more about Redbird bank account.
I’ve been around long enough to not feel embarrassed or humiliated everytime we play a big team. I DONT care how and where they find the money, not my job. Is Uefa giving trophies now for THE CLUB WITH THE BEST PROFFIT OR BALANCE SHEET??
Congratulations to all educated Milan fans!
For more 4th places to come! ( If we’re lucky)

          1. Lol, than go support inter and their 2 great past their prime signings Zielinski and Taremi and a backup goalie. Yup that is a great campaign so far. And before you spew more nonsense go and read a bit about Oaktree has vetoed their other 3 transfers due to age and now can only buy young players to develop and sell for profit in a few years because of their finances.

No , no trophies for good finances but if you don’t manage it properly you will be excluded from European competition like we were a couple of years back.

    2. And then Berlusconi and Galliani ran out of money, had to sell the club and buy a mid-table provincial minnow. There are two sides to every coin. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

    3. There was no deal to make, so they stopped wasting time.

Kai needs to make it look like he is negotiating with multiple teams while getting a player to Arsenal if they want him, if not, then Man U, if not, then remaining PL clubs…

The club needs to build relationships with agents as other teams have to deliver them players. The money trading hands is just part of an ongoing salary.
