CM: Massara spearheading fresh Milan assault for Cesena starlet after rejected €600k bid

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could make a new offer for teenage Cesena midfielder Tommaso Berti having been impressed with his performances, a report claims.

Berti is beginning to attract the attention of some top flight clubs given that he is a starter for Cesena – who are top of their group in Serie C – despite being just 17 year of age. Berti made his professional debut for Cesena back in August of this year during a 3-1 home Coppa Serie C win against Pistoiese and his league debut came less than a month later during a game against Imolese.

According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, Milan made an offer for Berti last summer as part of the deal that saw the 20-year-old Primavera striker Riccardo Tonin move to Cesena on loan. The management bid €150,000 for the loan and €450,000 for the option to buy plus various bonuses.

Cesena decided to keep Berti for at least another season, convinced that a talent with these characteristics was destined to explode, and now Sassuolo have also been watching him for several weeks.

Nonetheless, sporting director Ricky Massara has never given up and is ready for a new assault in the coming months.
