CM: Matic could arrive on a free transfer next summer

Nemanja Matic’s contract with Manchester United expires next summer (via Transfermarkt), which means that he will have the right to negotiate with other clubs from January. As reported by Calciomercato.com, both Inter and Milan are possible destinations.

The Serbian midfielder’s adventure at Man Utd is coming to an end, as the contract which expires in June 2020 hardly will be renewed by the Red Devils, the report claims. In fact, the player’s agents have offered his services to Inter and Milan.

After signing very young players this summer, the Rossoneri are looking for an experienced figure for Giampaolo’s team, the report continues. As for Inter, Conte worked with the player during his time at Chelsea, and a reunion for the two certainly shouldn’t be ruled out.

However, there is one major doubt about the potential transfer, at least for Milan. Matic will most likely request a very high salary, which would go against the Rossoneri’s policy of cutting down the salaries, as has been ordered by the owners Elliott.
