CM: Meite moving towards summer exit – Milan eye exciting €27m duo as replacements

AC Milan are looking at two possible replacements as Soualiho Meite currently seems unlikely to remain at the club, a report claims.

As Calciomercato.com writes, Meite joined the Rossoneri in January from Torino on a paid loan and has yet to convince Massara and Maldini to exercise the option to buy set at €8m. The French midfielder will have nine games to prove that he can be an important player for the team into next season, otherwise he will go back to Turin.

The scouting department meanwhile are already looking at possible replacements for Meite, and Mattias Svanberg is named among them. The Swedish midfielder is physical, good technically and has great tactical intelligence. His valuation is around €15m and the eyes of several Premier League clubs – such as Southampton and Leicester – are on him, but Milan have an advantage due to the great friendship between Massara and Sabatini.

Another name on Milan’s wish list is Albert Sambi Lokonga of Anderlecht. He is more of a classic No.6 in front of the defence and is compared to Busquets in the article. Milan’s scouts have been following this talent for some time and have always drawn up positive reports.

Lokonga is a very good friend of Saelemaekers, who in an interview with La Derniere Heure admitted that he had mentioned his name: “I have talked about it several times with Pioli, I think he is ready to play for a great club.” His valuation is around €12m, and there is strong competition.
